I just called the Genovese
Posted on August 29th, 2002 @ 10:27 am

I just called the Genovese where Jay and I met (10 years ago this week! how insane!) — we have an appointment for our engagement pictures this weekend, and thought it would be fun to take a few in aisle 9 of the drugstore — the very first place we bumped into one another. It was his second day of work, my first, and from then on, we were inseparable. Little did we know what would come of it. :-)
So the manager said it would be fine — I thought she would be a little more amused at the whole thing, so I was a bit disappointed by that. But how silly and fun and oddly romantic to have our pictures taken at the very spot where we met — with a panaroma of the toothpaste aisle behind us!

lightweight cheap date

So I’m all like, what the hell is this headache? It’s been forever since I woke up with a headache.
And then I remembered the wine.
Ugh.
I had a dream about Rich last night. He was mad at me for something, but I don’t remember what.
The cool thing about growing my hair out is it’s long enough to wear braids with my overalls, not just pigtails. Very excited about this. Unfortunately, I don’t have daisy ponytail holders to match my outfit.
Also very excited about the John Mayer cd I bought Monday. Very mellow, very good. Guilty pleasures are a good thing. Does anyone else think he looks a lot like Joey McIntyre? And it only counts if you remember Joey while he was still NKOTB. Really.
It almost feels like autumn out! I dug out my khaki overalls, mary janes and camoflauge socks, and complete with braids (but minus the headache) — I’m all set for September to roll on in! I’m itchin’ for some apple picking.
But someone, please, make the pounding in my brain go bye-bye first. Please.

… and very tired.
I’m grateful for the retreat (as crabby as I was that I couldn’t go to the Sox game last night with Jay) — because I got to spend some quality girl time with Alisa…

poor jay’s been erika-less all afternoon. we all know how painful that can be. I mean, look at him — settled into the couch, ps2 controller in one hand, beer in the other. it’s that a sign of loneliness, or what?
anyway, been updating a lot. there are two new looks floating around — the photolog is finally a point where I’m somewhat happy with it, and brides to be has a new look — and a new name. go see the digital bride!

thong.jpg

I know it might be tough to see, but it was glaring at us all through lunch — a girl sitting at the bar next to our table, pants down to here and thong up to here. and I caught this picture at a decent moment — there were times her pants were lower than that.
Now, I’m all about the thong, on occasion. But please, have enough self-respect to at least cover it up in an eating establishment. And yes, I took the picture — as a statement to all of womankind that this is NOT attractive, no matter, not ever.

I am in love with this site. (see this and this. incredible.) and the honesty here hurts so much. (this especially).
suddenly, I have a want to see my old roommate, emily, to eat nachos and slices of pepperjack cheese until 3 am, and sneak off to my room and write poetry until I’m asleep in my favorite chair. sometimes it surprises me how much I miss her.

you know what? happy munkees rock. how wonderful to look over and see all the good things in people’s lives… it really does make me feel like there is good in the world.
anyway, my parents are coming up for the weekend — which means the aquarium, a night at the Sheraton in the Prudential, window shopping on Newbury, and some good eats. and I get to carry my new purse! rock on.

why is it that chinese
Posted on August 22nd, 2002 @ 8:36 pm

why is it that chinese food always seems like a great idea before you eat it, but never after, no matter how little or much you’ve eaten?

burn ‘em, baby!

one of THE best feelings has got to be taking off your bra at the end of the day.
perhaps too much information, yes, and I imagine jay really doesn’t want people imagining me taking off my bra, true — but my god — what a feeling of relief and comfort. and perhaps this is my next step into hippiedom — bye, bye victoria’s secret?
yeah, right. and I just might stop shaving my legs. like that would ever happen!
