alright, so i've noticed that a lot of people watched the vma's on the 28th. i, personally, did not. it did not hold my attention span, and there are far too many commercials.
however, last night, on one of it's bajillion reshowings, my sister was watching it, and told me that coldplay was performing. i love coldplay. i think they are just fabulous. also, nice accents.
but i also like them because they are involved in different organizations around the world. they truly care, and are using their fame to have their voices heard. i was extremely happy to see that on Chris Martin's piano were the words 'make trade fair.' did you notice this? wonder exactly what it's for?

Make Trade Fair is an international organization that "gives a voice to the farmers, labourers, and factory workers who are being cheated by the blatantly unfair rules of world trade. And it gives a voice to you, the consumer, if you want to join them in the call to end exploitation and make trade fair." (credit: MakeTradeFair.com)
please visit the website to learn more. it really is a wonderful organization, one that i've been apart of for a while now.
so i'd like to also invite you to sign Oxfam's petition. Oxfam's getting as many people as possible to sign a petition - the big noise - to stop people getting ripped off in poor countries due to unfair trade rules. there are thousands of supporters worldwide, but they still need your support and that of your friends, family and colleagues to send a strong message to our leaders that unfair trade is inexcusable.
